Save Money Skips……. The Story so far!!!!

SMS was born out of necessity….. 2012 was for us a very bad year but also seen the start of save money skips, a 1988 Hino Ranger and 6 skips that I built at home. We started with zero customers, did general was skips in the greater Dunedin area covering Waikouaiti to Milton and everywhere in between. Its been a pretty steep learning curve but our focus was and still remains providing waste solutions and great service for our customers. Having just one truck and such a larger area to cover meant we worked hard to make things as efficient as we could carting several skips at a time saving time, money and fuel. The unique design of our skips has assisted in this as well. The two biggest challenges we had in those early days was not having enough equipment and drivers because we are so fussy about service and we had no money. In 2016 Both Ollie and Harry came on board, we bought some more trucks and for the next 5 Years that was our team. As the market changed we changed with it. Early mornings long days and late nights. In 2018 we decided to invest in a New Mitsi BiFold Gantry truck to our spec which was a game changer. 3 Days after the first one arrived we bought the next one, repairs bills went down efficiencies went up …….As the business has evolved we have continued to grow …. more team members ….. more trucks…more skips…… if the basics are solid then scaling it up is no problem. We cover all types of waste with primarily skips but also Hook bins, all types of wheelie bins both commercial and residential.

We are a locally owned and operated waste company and the company of choice for most people here in Dunedin and proud of it.
